US Marine Welcomes Baby Girl from Halfway Across the World



"Compared to what it used to be like with letters, Marines didn't find out that they were parents for weeks." These are the words of Jana Walker, who gave birth to a baby girl last Thursday. Meanwhile, her husband, Lance Cpl. Brandon Walker, was halfway across the world -- aboard the USS KEARSARGE in the Arabian sea. Fortunately, technology has come a long way: With the help of a satellite phone, Lcpl. Walker was able to welcome his daughter into the world.
